Job Description:

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the areas of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus to expand our academic practice. There is immediate opportunity to engage in a busy tertiary clinical practice in an established longstanding department with a brand new, state of the art clinic and surgery center. In addition to providing excellence in patient care, ample opportunities exist to develop independent and collaborative research and innovative education models in a diverse academic clinical department. Salary, rank and tenure status will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The College of Medicine has an active faculty compensation plan, which includes incentives and bonuses. Employer will assist with relocation costs.

Retirement benefits include participation in 403(b) and 457 plans as well as an employer match. Professional liability protection and sovereign immunity are administered by the Florida Board of Governors self-insurance program.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate based on rank and experience with an excellent benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Requirements include completion of an approved residency program as well as postgraduate fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in Florida are prerequisites.

Preferred Qualifications:

Qualifications, in addition to clinical expertise, include a strong commitment to teaching, resident training, and research as well as participation in academic activities. Experience in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus is required. Incumbent will provide medical and surgical services to pediatric patients within UF Health facilities and affiliated locations.
