(Contingent upon available funding): 0.00 - 0.00, Commensurate with education and experience Work Schedule: TBD Faculty Appt Period: 11 month Job Summary: The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery.If you have a passion for educating the next generation of veterinarians and veterinary specialists, providing exceptional patient care, love contributing to clinical research and want to work in a collegial and supportive environment, this is the position for you.Responsibilities will include teaching and clinical service in the Food Animal (FA) Clinic of the Veterinary Medical Hospital, training of residents and interns, clinical research, and didactic lectures and laboratory instruction for veterinary students. Clinical responsibilities will include primary to tertiary care within the Food Animal Section of the Large Animal Hospital.Tired of being on call 24/7? We are in the process of building a separate after-hours large animal emergency service. This service currently has two faculty clinicians, one ACVIM LAIM board-certified and one ACVECC residency trained, with a third position posted and waiting to be filled.The FA section is a well-equipped service and sees a robust food animal caseload which consists of beef cattle and small ruminants with smaller numbers of camelids, dairy cattle and swine. The OSU FA Clinic consistently ranks among the top for food animal caseload at veterinary schools. Approximately one half to two-thirds of the caseload consists of primary care cases drawn from a large geographic area with the balance consisting of referral cases.This is a full-time tenure-track position with an excellent benefits package, 4 weeks of vacation, and an equipped office. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent veterinary degree, residency training in large animal internal medicine, large animal surgery, or food animal practice and certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM LAIM), American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). Candidates qualified to take the ACVIM, ACVS, or ABVP certification examination are encouraged to apply. Eligibility for faculty licensure in Oklahoma is required. A graduate degree (MSc or PhD) is desirable. Interest and clinical experience in routine food animal theriogenology is desirable. Opportunity to participate in the food animal ambulatory service is available to interested candidates. Candidates certified by comparable EBVS recognized Colleges are encouraged to apply.
