THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position coordinates the educational, administrative, and operational undergraduate medical education programs/activities at the College of Medicine – Knoxville campus and serves as central point of contact and liaison for medical students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides comprehensive support for medical students and student programming on campus.
  • Coordinates student orientation and onboarding for large groups.
  • Oversees the process for visiting student applications and notifies relevant departments of student applicants.
  • Assists with planning and logistics for high-profile student events and meetings.
  • Coordinates annual review of rotation requirements with directors and coordinators.
  • Manages student materials, ID badges, and technology access; organizes regular student luncheons with the Dean.
  • Prepares and submits offer and decline letters to visiting student applicants.
  • Assists the Course Director in organizing the four-week Capstone Course for graduating medical students.
  • Coordinates room assignments, videoconferencing, and A/V setup for course sessions.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of office experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of office experience; OR Master’s Degree in lieu of experience. 

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge to understand and support the mission of the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including professionalism, and emotional intelligence when interacting with colleagues, course directors, faculty, and students.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and scheduling abilities to successfully implement events.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities during peak periods.
  • Ability to rapidly understand job requirements and adapt to changes.
  • WORK SCHEDULE:  This position may occasionally be required to work evenings. May require occasional overnight travel.
