Medical Office Manager
Student Counseling Center
The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position Medical Office Manager in the Student Counseling Center. This is a non-exempt, 12-month, full-time; non-tenure track staff position.
The Medical Office Manager provides leadership and management of the administrative teams for The Student Counseling Center and the Center for Care and Resilience at the University of Tennessee. These two units collaborate to support students by providing care coordination, counseling services, mental health outreach and consultation services.
The Position: The Medical Office Manager has oversight of the day to day operations of the administrative team that greets and responds to student needs. By establishing workflows, inventories, technology access, ordering, communications, and budgetary support, this key team member provides administrative support to the director teams of both departments. This role ensures an efficient, effective, supportive environment for students clients and professional staff. As a member of the leadership team, this key role contributes to the supervision and training of administrative and clinical staff on office procedures, provides administrative support to both departments in managing University systems and processes and technology, manages data and clinical records, contributes to budget management, and supervises a team of 3-5 employees who complete the front office duties for both departments.

Qualifications
What We Require:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field, and 1 year of experience within an office setting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
· Ability to plan, organize and implement co-occurring projects
· Strong knowledge of confidential Mental Health and FERPA privacy guidelines
· Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information
· Ability to work within Banner, Maxient, or other campus software platforms associated with the role
· Ability to collaborate with other departments
· Working knowledge of treatment programs and mental health terminology
· Ability to work in a fluctuating work environment where pace and conditions may change frequently
· Knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems, as well as Microsoft office suite

· Experience working with a college population
· Experience in a mental health setting
· 1 or more years of experience in a supervisory role
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
· Knowledge of office practices in counseling and/or medical offices
