The adjunct instructor will be responsible for teaching courses in sound engineering (Audio Visual Production), live sound, electronics and applied music lessons. This position reports to the Chair of Commercial Music. Adjunct instructors are hired based on the needs of the hiring department per semester.
Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and/or online classes. Locations may include on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. Correctional facility teaching assignment available.
Other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in Commercial Music or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education is required. Three to five years of professional experience in music or audio engineering is required.
Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to clearly communicate. Must comply with established College rules and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in a musical field or graduate degree in a related field is preferred. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
