Description Position OverviewInteract with patrons on a nightly basis, ensuring their satisfaction with concert experiences. Act as the primary point of contact for all venue-related inquiries during events. Oversee and manage student employees. Manage and maintain the technical integrity of sound equipment, including hardware and software systems, inventory, and media supplies. Schedule activities and develop and maintain schedules.
Job Duties
- Directly manage and supervise the ticket office, sound engineers, and performers.
- Assist in maintaining the Jazz Lab Recording Studio Facilities.
- Develop and maintain procedures and protocols for sound equipment upkeep, maintenance, and detailed cataloging.
- Maintain operation of all Jazz Lab audio, video, and light systems.
- Supervise ticket office operations and procedures, including reservations and performance preparation, as needed.
- Open and close the facility following proper security procedures.
- Work with the Jazz Lab director to develop the yearly strategic plan.
- Present budgets to the director.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in job related field plus 5+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires work experience with leading, planning, including program development and innovation, program prioritization, and assessment. Appropriate professional accomplishments and credentials.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred
Experience working in a live music venue. Experience working with local, regional, and national performing acts. Experience engineering, mixing, and mastering commercial quality music in a large studio facility.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The ideal candidate will have strong team execution abilities, coaching skills, and a talent for developing others. They should excel in building and maintaining relationships, conflict resolution, delegation, and problem-solving. An understanding of diversity and change management is essential. Knowledge of professional sound design, recording equipment, and stage/studio preparations is necessary. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work both as a team player and independently are required.
