Job DetailsAssistant Professor of Applied PsychologyThe Gupta College of Science and Department of Psychology at Coastal Carolina University invite applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Successful candidates will have a background in an applied area of psychology such as applied behavior analysis, health psychology, clinical psychology, linguistics, sports psychology, or another closely related area. Successful applicants will be appointed to a full-time, nine-month position beginning in August 2025. Required Qualifications:• An earned doctorate with a background in an applied area of psychology such as applied behavior analysis, health psychology, clinical psychology, linguistics, sports psychology, or another closely related area (ABD will be considered if defense is completed by August 2025)
• A record of, or potential for, excellence in university teaching, research, and service
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentoring student researchDesired Qualifications:• Undergraduate teaching experience
• Experience mentoring student research
• A record of external funding for scholarly activitiesThe Gupta College of Science is the largest college within Coastal Carolina University with more than 2,800 undergraduate and graduate students. The College offers a premier STEM education delivered by committed faculty from 7 different STEM departments. Prepares content, syllabi, and University Moodle/curricular site for each course and/or lab assigned each semester. Communicates to students after reviewing assignments. Calculates and assigns grades (e.g., mid-term and final) through established procedures listed in the Faculty manual and University catalog. Tracks and reports absences as directed by the Office of the Registrar. 3. Conducts research to create and add to knowledge in a field, including the advancement of new theories and principles to improve educational effectiveness. Trains students in related research techniques. 4. Posts and holds regular office hours each week per College and University guidelines. Engages in University-related activities including committee assignments, meetings and scholarly pursuits as prescribed in the Faculty Manual. Serves as the primary academic advisor for marine science students as assigned.
