Job Summary:
The Department of Psychology Social Media Team is excited to hire a student to support the creation and maintenance of our departmental Instagram. The Social Media Student Coordinator will manage and enhance the department’s online presence on Instagram. This role involves creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and analyzing performance metrics to boost visibility and engagement. The Coordinator will collaborate with student groups, faculty, and the broader campus to develop and execute social media campaigns, and will adhere to a posting schedule to maintain a strong online presence. Strong communication skills, creativity, and a keen understanding of social media trends are essential for success in this position.This is a temporary, non-benefit eligible, non-exempt position as defined by FLSA standards.
Specific Responsibilities:- Meet weekly with Psychology Department social media coordinator(s).- Create, edit, and post social media content for the department with attention to detail.- Communicate clearly and effectively with social media team and relevant faculty and staff.- Bring energy, creativity, and professionalism to the job.- Ability to take constructive feedback about performance.

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStudents in this position should have the following:Knowledge- Understanding Instagram features and guidelines.- Understanding of ins-and-outs of social media, especially Instagram.Skills & Abilities:- Ability to create engaging, visually appealing, and platform-appropriate content.- Ability to use content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Express, Canva, etc.)- Strong written & verbal communication skills.- Time management.- Creative problem solving.- Ability to work independently.- Maintain appropriate boundaries, especially considering ethical responsibility and confidentiality.
