Postdoctoral Fellow is sought to join the Nanobio Materials and Robotics (NMR) group at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

Responsibilities

The individual will work on a series of NSF, NIH, DoD, and NASA projects related to organ engineering, 3D Bioprinting, and mechanobiology.

Responsibilities include training undergraduate and graduate students in experimental tissue engineering and additive biomanufacturing, as well as the development and characterization of functional tissues. The position offers a wide range of professional development opportunities though the NHMFL, Florida A&M University (FAMU), and Florida State University (FSU), including participation in exciting government funded frontier biomedical science and engineering, mentoring experience, and the potential for initiating new independent research. Strong experimental skills are required, along with programing experience (e.g. MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).

Qualifications

Experience and Skills Sought:

• PhD in Bioengineering, Cell/Microbiology, Immunology, or other relevant discipline.

• Experience with animal handling and primary mammalian cell culture.

• A track record of quality publications with excellent writing skills is essential. • Experience with Nano Fabrication techniques, such as 2 Photon Nanolithography

• Advanced knowledge in image processing and optical/electron microscopy (i.e. TEM)

• Advanced training in vitro techniques and assays (cytotoxicity, angiogenesis, immunohistochemistry, protein and gene expression assays)

• Team player with outstanding leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
