The Connecticut Information Technology Institute (CITI)/Digital Frontiers Initiative (DFI) in the School of Business is seeking a full-time Program Administrator (Educational Program Coordinator, P3). The incumbent will report to the Executive Director of CITI and will coordinate day-to-day administrative activities and provide project coordination, program support, and advising. The position will be based in Hartford but may require travel to Storrs or other regional campuses, as well as other locations in-state and out-of-state. The position will also require occasional weekend and evening hours in support of program activities and events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating general office operations and processes for CITI and DFI, maintaining and processing necessary paperwork to support program, including financial and personnel records and partner invoicing.
- Identifying and scoping projects with partner companies to create experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and timely project delivery.
- Seeking out new partners through networking and marketing efforts.
- Developing and executing marketing and promotional strategies, representing the program at partner events, to promote training and experiential learning engagements.
- Collaborating with the CITI directors to plan, develop, and implement educational program content aligned with industry trends and partner requirements. Supervising the day-to-day delivery of program content and services.
- Conducting research and analysis on emerging trends to ensure training course remains relevant and strategically valuable for partners.
- Assists in advising partner companies on professional education opportunities and related program planning.
- Serving as a resource to potential and current partners, students, faculty, staff, and others on matters relating to program policies, procedures, and activities.
- Collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of program content. Implementing continuous improvements based on partner feedback.
- Hiring, supervising, evaluating, and training student employees, determining work assignments, monitoring progress on projects, and prioritization of tasks.
- Responsible for special projects which may be ongoing or short-term and which require planning, coordination, supervision, and thorough knowledge of the program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three to four years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to source and scope projects, including prior experience planning, organizing, and implementing educational programs.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve day-to-day program problems.
- Exemplary conduct and demeanor, projecting a polished and professional image at all times.
- Demonstrated experience taking initiative, working independently and accurately, exercising sound judgment when making decisions, and meeting deadlines.
- Proven experience working well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, external agencies/groups, and the public.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
- Dependable transportation and willingness and ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel in-state, out-of-state, and internationally as needed in support of program activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience working in an academic higher education environment in a university setting.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing executive education or non-credit educational programs.
- Demonstrated experience in account management or sales.
- Experience developing and executing marketing and promotional strategies.
- Demonstrated experience working with executives or other business professionals.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time, end-date, annually renewable position based in Hartford, CT. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $67,000 depending on education, qualifications and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
