Box Office Manager – Clarence Brown Theatre/University of Tennessee Theatre

The Clarence Brown Theatre, the professional theatre on the campus of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville invites applications for the Box Office Manager position.

Application Process: Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position has been filled. The Clarence Brown Theatre is seeking a Box Office Manager. The Box Office Manager manages and supervises the daily operations of the Box Office.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling all Patron Services employees

·         Submitting timesheets and tracking labor budget for part-time staff and student employees

·         Providing a supporting role to our Season for Youth program (outreach program with local schools)

·         Completing deposits for ticket sales

·         Overseeing daily and nightly cash handling

·         Leading the Patron Services team in all aspects of Customer Service

·         Serving as principal Box Office Manager for 80+% of performances, including nights and weekends



Qualifications

Educational and experience requirements:

·         Associate’s Degree

·         2 years of customer service and cash handling experience

Minimum Skills required:

·         Knowledge of financial practices

·         Working knowledge of box office procedures

·         Knowledge of MS Office

·         Writing and organizational skills

·         Customer service skills

·         Ability to analyze and interpret reports

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

·         Ability to motivate part-time and full-time staff

·         Ability to handle and de-escalate customer service issues quickly

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

·         Supervisory experience

·         Experience building events in ticketing systems

·         Bachelor’s Degree

This position involves frequent work in the evenings and on the weekends at the Clarence Brown Theatre.
