Job Details
Lake Forest College seeks a part-time laboratory supervisor in the Department of Physics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up instructional laboratory experiments
- Organize and maintain the department stockroom with demonstrations
- Order and repair laboratory equipment and supplies
- Update and maintain the department website
- Supervise student workers
- Administrative tasks such as processing reimbursement requests and invoices, reconciling credit card statements, and ordering office supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, plus an aptitude and willingness to learn new computer-related skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with students, staff, and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Background or course work in Physics. Experience in a physics laboratory environment is desirable.
- Previous administrative experience.
- Previous business experience a plus.
This appointment is 20 hours per week during the academic year, mid-August to mid-May, with time off for holidays and College breaks.
