The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine seeks a Research Assistant Professor interested in rehabilitation research. A significant record of academic accomplishment and the potential to attract independent research funding are important considerations for this position. Applicants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty throughout the university including the Miami Project, Sylvester Cancer Institute, Miami Transplant Institute, Physical Therapy, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Biomedical Engineering to advance multidisciplinary approaches. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience. Compensation includes an excellent fringe benefits package, including dependent tuition benefits.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
• Write and submit scientific papers and abstracts, as well as submit grant proposals.
• Presents ongoing work and findings to colleagues and at academic/research conferences.
• Supervises, mentors, and manages postdoctoral fellows as well as graduate students engaged in collaborative research projects.
• Participates in the management of the daily operations of his/her lab.
• Conduct regular research lab meetings.
• Candidates should possess a PhD, MD, or other doctoral degree in a related behavioral science discipline and have an outstanding record of scholarly publications and extramural funding with exceptional promise in rehabilitation research.

UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI
Experience: At least two year of post doctoral experience in rehabilitation research. Evidence of dissemination of new research information. Strong publication record and success in individually funded grant awards is preferred. Any relevant education, certifications, and/or work experience may be considered.
