Job Description:
The College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Comparative, Diagnostic, and Population Medicine at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a faculty member to join our Anatomic Pathology service as a full time, clinical track faculty assistant/associate professor in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology.
The individual will participate in and support the biopsy and necropsy services and teaching activities of the Anatomic Pathology Service in the UF Veterinary Hospitals and will be expected to develop and participate in collaborative research. Teaching responsibilities will involve didactic and clinical training of professional students and residents, and opportunities also exist for graduate student mentorship and education.
The UF College of Veterinary Medicine is the seventh ranked College of Veterinary Medicine in the US and is the only one that is part of a top 10 public research university (UF is ranked #6 nationally). The College of Veterinary Medicine is located on campus in close proximity to the College of Medicine and numerous other Health Sciences units that provide ample opportunities for translational research and collaboration. The Veterinary Anatomic Pathology service is composed of nine faculty and six residents, in addition to a robust necropsy and histology support staff. Opportunities also exist to make contributions to established veterinary specialty services, particularly the dermatopathology service. The University of Florida is proud to be part of only a few Veterinary Colleges in the country that offers a specialized veterinary dermatopathology service. This service has an outstanding caseload with a loyal clientele, working closely with dermatologists and general practitioners at UF and across the country. The goal is to continue expanding the service, attracting new clients and supporting our dermatology team in the diagnostic and research areas, fulfilling our mission to be leaders on this field. The Anatomic Pathology residency is a three-year program structured to prepare trainees for possible academic and diagnostic careers. The University of Florida Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories are comprised of dedicated individuals who strive for excellence in diagnostics to improve animal and human health.

Expected Salary:
Salary will be based upon the successful candidate's professional qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Required qualifications for this position is a DVM or equivalent degree from an approved institution and completion of a veterinary anatomic pathology residency training program or equivalent training. ACVP or ECVP board eligibility or certification is required. Experience in diagnostic biopsy and necropsy, and the ability to independently sign out cases, is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest and/or experience in dermatopathology is preferred.
