LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: 24 hours per week; Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am-4pm with some evenings and weekends for events/trips.

ANTICIPATED START DATE: July 2024

Pay Range: $19.68 - $23.15 per hour

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for using a culturally sustaining approach to support community building, belonging, and affirmation for students engaged with the Pride Lounge on the NWTC Green Bay Campus.

  • Collaborate with Student Involvement, SAGA, the Pride & Allies Employee Involvement Group (EIG), and faculty and staff across the College to cultivate and sustain a supportive and identity-affirming environment in the Pride Lounge.
  • Facilitate community building among students from marginalized groups.
  • Support student affinity groups and assist them in leadership development and engagement in collaboration with Student Involvement.
  • Invite and elevate the voices of students from marginalized groups at the college.
  • Maintain frequent communication with Student Services offices to understand their processes and services to best assist students with resource navigation.
  • Assist in making connections with community organizations and leaders to inform and support identity-based student engagement and support.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Associate’s Degree

Experience: One to three years related work experience including, but not limited to, community organizing, youth development, student affairs, K-12 or higher education teaching etc. Demonstrated understanding of strengths of and obstacles experienced by students from marginalized groups and experience working with students or communities from marginalized groups using assets-based approach.

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
