HIRING SALARY: $31,255.86 - $34,23140 annually; all salary calculations to start at the minimum salary

HOURS: 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday, may include weekends

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Maintenance Technician II is located in Havana at the Florida Public Safety Institute and reports to the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent. The Maintenance Technician II primary function is to perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment including electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, masonry and related components. Operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems and components including building automation systems. Assists in performing door and lock installation and repairs, including automatic openers and closers. Obtains quotes and performs small projects as needed. Operates and maintains vehicles including tractors, forklifts, boom lifts, loaders, large trucks, and motorized carts. Maintains small equipment used in the maintenance area. Must be able to operate a computer and input data. Moves and installs furniture. Supervises temporary help. Will be on-call as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma, and four years of experience in a majority of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, electronics and carpentry/masonry.

Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, work outdoors in all types of weather and temperatures. Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds or more. Ability to drive, maintain, and repair vehicles, tractors, trucks, and equipment. Ability to use a two-way communication radio. Ability to serve in an on-call status on a rotating basis.
