Unit Mission Statement:The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation (STLI) inspires and advances teaching and learning across William & Mary. We catalyze community and collaboration at the intersection of innovation, learning, and discovery.
Position Summary:The STLI Community & Communications Coordinator works collaboratively with our team to manage and support areas related to visual and written communications, marketing, event coordination, and basic web management. This part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) coordinates the department’s internal and external communications initiatives and community event strategies to ensure consistent messaging and partner engagement. The Community & Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating outreach efforts related to event promotion, web-based assets, and general department communication. Duties include basic communications through newsletters, email, and select social media platforms as well as support for in-person and hybrid events hosted by STLI.

Required Qualifications:- Associates degree or equivalent experience and education
- Experience with website management and design using content management systems such as Cascade and Wordpress sites.
- Ability to manage, monitor, and create content for select social media channels such as LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and disseminating email marketing campaigns and newsletters utilizing customer relationship management systems such as Mailchimp.
- Ability to generate and coordinate engagement and outreach efforts across campus and beyond.
- Ability to Coordinate logistics and promotional materials for events, symposiums, and programs.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work, successfully manage multiple projects concurrently, and take these projects from planning stages to successful completion in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with administrative processes related to maintaining web-based accounts, purchasing, and basic budgeting for projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field
- Experience writing, copy editing, and contributing to stories and blog posts for social media, web, newsletters, reports, and publications
- Skilled in communications management, and proven ability to generate ideas, produce feature stories, articles and press releases
- Proven ability to foster strong relationships, build community, work collaboratively, and exercise diplomacy with internal/external stakeholders and constituencies
- Proven experience with storytelling, design and other creative visual, print, online communications, and social media
- Experience with budgeting and procurement processes in support of a mid-sized department
- Ability to conceptualize and execute visual designs for various departmental initiatives and projects using Adobe Creative Cloud Applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) or web-based design tools (Canva).

Advertised Pay Range:Up to $25 an hour, commensurate with experience. This position requires an estimated 20-25 hours per week.
