Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:This position is a one academic year nine month appointment. It requires the candidate to teach four courses per semester. Course requirements include teaching traditional (lab based) and online courses in Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology program.
An earned Doctoral or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology, electronics and computer engineering/technology or similar, from a regionally accredited institution. Candidate with ABD will also be considered.
The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate research program. The applicant is expected to help with improving the Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology program including further development of lab and teaching resources, curriculum development and application for academic accreditation (i.e. SACS and ABET-ETAC).
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience or higher education teaching experience. An equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education may be substituted. May have familiarity with higher education, curriculum planning, best teaching practices, or a record of excellence in teaching. Must have knowledge of electrical, electronics and computer engineering, specifically, in the following sub-disciplines – electrical circuits, printed circuit board (PCB) design, analog and digital telecommunications, advanced digital design, wireless networks, VLSI, VHDL, FPGA or a closely related field. Must be able to teach related coursework in electronics and computer engineering technology. Must have the ability to work “hands on” with engineering instrumentation and testing devices. Need to have a working knowledge of National Instruments – Multisim, PCB Design, Quartus, and other related software/hardware tools. Must have the ability to program in a high-level, general purpose hardware related computer language. Must have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
