JOB SUMMARY
The LandiLab in the Department of Psychological Sciences, at the University of Connecticut is seeking a full-time Research Assistant. The successful candidate will play an integral role in managing a NICHD-funded study investigating the trajectories of reading development and reading intervention response in children with reading difficulties, using EEG and behavioral assessment. This position involves data collection in schools across CT and coordinating with a team of researchers at the Yale Child Study Center who collect data in NY and PA.
This position offers an opportunity to obtain training and hands-on experience with several research methodologies in a longitudinal project, including behavioral assessment and EEG. The Research Assistant will work with children, schools/school personnel, and a team of researchers (undergraduate/graduate students, postdocs, faculty). There will also be opportunities to engage in other lab-related research projects and cross-site training.
The position is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individuals preparing for a graduate career in Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field. The successful candidate will have opportunities to be involved in conference submissions and presentations as well as manuscript preparation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicating with schools and families for recruitment purposes.
- Collecting and scoring assessment data.
- Assist with data management efforts.
- Coordinating, training, and working with our team of undergraduate research assistants.
- Engage in lab meetings.
- Perform other duties as required.

APPOINTMENT TERMS
This position is a full-time, 12-month appointment (annually renewable based on performance and funding availability). A two-year commitment is preferred. The desired start date would ideally be during August or September of 2024.
Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).
