Job SummaryThe Technician conducts open lab hours to assist faculty in the day-to-day nursing laboratory operations at a local or divisional site.
Duties & Responsibilities- Ensures that Students and faculty have adequate resources to perform all aspects of course requirements
- Assists Student-Aids to perform all required job duties safely and maintain competency records
- Ensures that all carts have adequate resources and supplies for teaching
- Maintains an "open door policy" and communicates with student, faculty, and administration to promote development and accountability
- Assists Lab Manager in organizing lab for teaching, testing, & reviewing off site labs (Homestead)
- Organizes/ sets linen carts & hampers, checks biohazard bags & hampers, ensures glove dispensers have adequate supplies
- Ensures deliveries are checked & stocked properly, arranges mannequins & beds via faculty requests
- Reports malfunctions, discrepancies, & other issues related to the use of equipment to the Lab Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree in related field from a regionally accredited institution or two (2) years of College (60 credits equivalent) and one (1) year of related experience
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited insitution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Ability to follow OSHA and Miami Dade College School of Nursing policies and procedures in the laboratory
- Knowledge and understanding of student and faculty requirements for lab procedures, skills, and testing
- Ability to positively interact with staff, students, and faculty
- Possess a friendly demeanor and provide intelligent solutions
- Possess good communication skills both orally and in writing
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
