About the School

The School of Intelligence Science and Technology (IST) is one of the pioneering schools at Nanjing University Suzhou campus. As artificial intelligence technology has become a new essential factor of productivity and is driving a new wave of the information technology revolution, guided by Nanjing University's directive for equal standards and differentiated development across various campuses, IST draws on the resources of the School of Artificial Intelligence and the State Key Laboratory for Novel Software Technology at Nanjing University. The school vigorously conducts and develops cutting-edge research in areas such as computer vision and pattern recognition, intelligent unmanned systems, brain-inspired intelligence, Al for Science, etc. Meanwhile, in line with the new engineering disciplines at the Nanjing University Suzhou campus, the school emphasizes interdisciplinary integration and focuses on talent cultivation and key technological research in critical industry sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, medical health, and defense technology.

Currently, IST has established a high-level faculty team of nearly 20 members, including one fellow of the Chinese Academy of Science, one recipient of the National Special Support Program for High-Level Talents, and six recipients of the National Special Support Program for High-Level Youth Talents. The school admits 150 undergraduate students annually and has two authorized disciplines for master's and doctoral degrees, offering four graduate enrollment directions with a current faculty of 12 doctoral supervisors. The school has established the Visual Computing and Intelligent Perception Research Center, and has co-constructed the Nanjing University - China Mobile Joint Research Institute and the National Institute of Healthcare Data Science at Nanjing University.


We are actively seeking global talents to join School of IST. Our current vacancies primarily include tenure-track assistant professor and tenure-track associate professor positions.   1. Comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and have a passion for teaching and scientific research.

  2. Possess good teaching ethics, adhere to academic integrity, work diligently, have no criminal record, and no history of disciplinary action for violating teaching ethics or academic integrity.

  3. First-class academic background: should have a doctoral degree in a relevant field of study, experience in learning and working at top teaching and research institutions and be familiar with the latest international research trends in the relevant field. For applicants for Assistant Professor: research experience for more than two years after receiving the doctoral degree.In principle,for applicants for Associate Professor: Research experience for more than four years after receiving the doctoral degree.

  4. Excellent teaching ability: Candidates should have the capability to teach core foundational and advanced courses in their specialization, master effective teaching methods and verbal communication skills.

  5. Outstanding academic achievements, a clear plan for future research, and potential for future career development.
