Position Summary:

WILLIAM & MARY LAW SCHOOL, in Williamsburg, Virginia, has multiple tenure-track or tenured positions available.

Duties include research, teaching, and service to the Law School. The Law School seeks exceptional academic achievement and distinction in the practice of law and/or in prior academic appointments. Considerable weight will be given to teaching potential evaluated, when possible, by considering written reviews of a candidate’s teaching. Evidence of a commitment to scholarship, particularly as demonstrated by actual scholarly achievement, will weigh heavily. To evaluate such achievement, candidates’ scholarship as well as their academic records will be assessed.

Successful candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professor of Law, Associate Professor of Law, or Professor of Law, as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

A J.D. (Juris Doctor) or the equivalent degree is required at time appointment begins.

COMPETENCIES:
Evidence of scholarly achievement or demonstrated potential as a scholar.
Evidence of success as a teacher or demonstrated potential to succeed in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Successful experience teaching in the law school environment.
