Job Summary

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking to hire a Program Coordinator to join our team of professionals

Duties Include:

  • Coordinates the development, scheduling, and implementation of new and ongoing programs within the Office of Academic Community Programs and Partnerships, including but not limited to STEM Saturdays, Doctors of Tomorrow, Junior Doctors of Tomorrow, and the Albert E. Dotson Sr. Premedical Program.
  • Responsible for developing and updating related materials, brochures, websites and flyers. Assists with annual updates of the Academic Community Programs and Partnerships website, and all promotional materials. Manages the Canvas web page for the Dotson Program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties do not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Performs administrative duties supporting instruction/training, such as the development and editing of materials for events and projects related to Academic Community Programs and Partners.
  • Tracks status of projects, by providing regular status reports on grant implementation in conjunction with grant reports. Maintains databases of all related activities. Performs basic statistical calculations on data for reports and presentations
  • Serves as a liaison between program participants and outside parties such as community partners, vendors, government agencies, and top-level administrators.
  • Monitors accounts/expenditures and reconciles expenses. Assists in the coordination/preparation of strategic plans in support of the programs or service.
  • Organizes and maintains confidential files.
  • Responsible for the credentialing of the community faculty involved in the programs for Academic Community Programs and Partners in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Oversees the payroll activities for accuracy and completeness on a biweekly basis.
  • Conducts biweekly site visits for the STEM Saturdays program to review and advise on the program effectiveness and participants engagement.
  • Ensures compliance with FIU policies, procedures, and practices with federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Maintains standards related to accreditation and other governing bodies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.

Desired Qualifications

Previous experience in an academic or community-based organization.
Strong writing and editing skills desired.
