Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:Faculty member will participate in undergraduate and graduate aspects of the Health Care Administration program as assigned. Maintains excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the department and university. Teaches courses in health care administration and other required courses in the degree program. Preference is for education/experience in health business-oriented areas (finance/accounting, informatics, organizational behavior, HRM, etc.) This position enhances the professional attributes of students; recruits and advises students in both the classroom and practical environments; fosters relationships with health care facilities. Collaborates with community partners to establish internships. Assists in maintaining and ensuring compliance with AUPHA standards and guidelines and other accrediting requirements. Performs other duties as requested or assigned by the administration. Experience with accreditation support and program reviews is preferred.
Educational Requirements for the Position:Earned Doctorate in Health Administration/Health Management, terminal degree in related discipline considered, or other professional degree and evidence of graduate studies (MPH, MHA, MHSA, MSPH, etc.) in health policy and management, health services administration, or health services research. ABD applicants would be considered but doctoral degree should be in hand on start date.
Experience Required for the Position:Professional experience in health management and instructional expertise in institutions of higher education. Preference is for education/experience in health business-oriented areas (finance/accounting, informatics, organizational behavior, HRM, etc.).
Other Requirements for the Position:Maintain excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the department and university; and other duties as requested or assigned by the administration.
