Position Description :Translational Health Research Center (THRC) seeks to develop a pool of candidates for one- and two-year postdoctoral positions (postdocs) at an interdisciplinary university-level research center. THRC seeks to foster healthy and resilient people and places through research conducted by Texas State investigators, along with corporate and community partners. THRC postdocs gain broad, interdisciplinary knowledge and skills working on applied research and community-based interventions. Faculty mentors from multiple academic disciplines work with postdocs on Texas State’s campuses in San Marcos and/or Round Rock, Texas.
THRC postdocs engage in research and professional training opportunities related to topics such as community health and resilience, interprofessional health practice, health journalism and data visualization, health economics, team science, digital health technology, AI and health informatics, dissemination and implementation science, rural and telehealth innovation, and related areas of inquiry.
A postdoc is a professional research appointment designed to provide recent doctoral degree recipients with additional experiences and skills to advance their careers. Each THRC postdoc develops an individualized training plan (ITP) in collaboration with faculty mentors The ITP serves as a roadmap for various research responsibilities and outcomes associated with the postdoc’s appointment. It also includes information about various professional development and networking opportunities that will be available to THRC postdocs during their appointment.
The Translational Health Research Center will accept applications from qualified applicants on a continual basis. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool postdoc position will be available for consideration in case the need arises.
