The Job
We are seeking an experienced Oracle APEX developer who loves solving business problems with system solutions. This role is responsible for developing, supporting, and enhancing custom-built web applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX), PL/SQL, Web Services, and other development tools as part of our Stanford Electronic Research Administration (SeRA) team. SeRA is suite of homegrown custom developed applications used for tracking administrative activities related to sponsored research in Stanford.
We are looking for a developer with proficiency in Oracle database development and Oracle APEX. This role works closely with other developers, business analysts, and testers to design, develop, and deliver secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise systems. This includes building and maintaining systems with many front-end pages, many system integrations, custom workflows, and complex table design.

The Team
Join the SeRA (Stanford electronic Research Administration) Application Team within University Information Technology (UIT) at Stanford. Our team supports, maintains, and improves our sophisticated, custom-built SeRA application supporting sponsored research administration for the university. The SeRA suite tracks the full life cycle of sponsored research activities and includes integrations with a multitude of other central Stanford systems such as Oracle Financials, Conflict of Interest, Training, Protocol Approvals, Accounts, and more. The team consists of developers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts who work together to solve diverse problems in the research administration space. Our SeRA application is one of Stanford's core central systems and is used across Stanford by a large user base of faculty and central groups.

Your Responsibilities

    Design & develop system solutions to business problems using Oracle PL/SQL & Oracle APEXReview, analyze, fix, and improve existing code when issues and bugs arise.Define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications.Migrate code through different development environments using migration tools.Work with DBAs for infrastructure activities.Recognize and recommend needed changes in the application and/or operational procedures.Connect and communicate with technical and non-technical clients and team members.

Your Qualifications & Skills

    Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experienceProficient in Oracle database development, design, and performance tuningProficient in developing applications using Oracle Applications Express (APEX)5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development and SQL programming experience.4+ years of hands-on Oracle APEX development experience.Experience with Web Services, JQuery/Javascript, CSS, HTML5 is a plus.Familiarity with application integrations using SnapLogic is a plus.Good team player. Coordination with other developers using tools such as Jira, Slack & ConfluenceAbility to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and programming tools.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated experience leading activities on structured team development projects.Experience working in Agile teams a plus.

The expected pay range for this position is $131,992 - $145,000 per annum.
