General Statement of Job:
The Facilities Planning and Construction Space Management Specialist coordinates facilities space data for institutional space needs and assists with tasks related to the College's ongoing design and construction projects.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manages the facilities space management software.
  2. Coordinates and assists with staff and faculty moves and maintains current data on facilities space utilization.
  3. Coordinates and assists with reviewing furniture requests across the college district.
  4. Coordinates and assists with receiving and inspecting furniture.
  5. Coordinates and assists in the planning of additional space needs to accommodate growth.
  6. Reviews and assists in the design and planning of space modifications as needed by the college.
  7. Assists with developing electronic drawing files, plans, and data needed for various projects.
  8. Coordinates and assists with preparing electronic scanned copies of construction documents including plans and specifications.
  9. Visits existing facilities and construction sites to gather information needed.
  10. Develops reports on current space utilization.
  11. Assists in future facilities master planning utilizing current data.
  12. Performs facility audits and updates space use data.
  13. Coordinates and assists with integrating facilities planning with institutional planning processes.
  14. Assists with maintaining campus master utility drawings, project drawing files, various other construction documents, and electronic drawing files.
  15. Maintains inventory of furniture and assets assigned to the Facilities Planning and Construction department.
  16. Coordinates furniture replacements.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field required.
  2. At least three (3) years of experience in construction, design, computer drafting or related field, preferred.
