Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate level Application Developer II to join Data Platform and Analytics, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees who are dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida's innovative and inspirational community.

This position will work under the direction of the teams IT Manager and in conjunction with the Lead Developer to support various large-scale applications including, but not limited to: Master Data Management / Identity Registry application and it's web-based UI, webservices via SnapLogic, testing via Postman, and others. Additionally, the candidate will support a low-code Data Management platform. The ideal candidate should be eager to understand and support new, large, and complex systems.

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$69,600 - $77,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:
  • Experience in developing Java applications using technologies such as JSP, Webservices, etc.
  • Experience in writing SQL for data retrieval and manipulation
  • Exposure to testing webservices using tools such as SOAP UI, Postman, etc.
  • Exposure to data analysis and profiling, good knowledge of UNIX scripting a plus
  • Functional understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), ETL, and Data warehousing
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) and REST API's a plus

    This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday required), and 2 days remote.
