Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has an immediate need for a Full-time Program Assistant. ESL Noncredit program. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. This is a Bargaining, Non-Exempt, Grade 21 position. Non-exempt positions are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. This position is currently eligible for telework 1 day a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the ordering, preparation and distribution of course materials, textbooks, and reports for instructors and/or students.
  • Build courses determined by Program Directors using scheduling software to include dates, times and room reservations each semester.
  • Reserve necessary instructional equipment.
  • Maintain financial records, keep track of supplies, anticipate and purchase items needed for the program at the request of the Program Directors, Coordinators and Placement & Learning Advisor.
  • Track hours worked by adjunct faculty, facilitate contracts, and interface with Payroll to ensure smooth payment for faculty.
  • Prepare reports and documents for noncredit open enrollment programs.
  • Receive and maintain class records, generate certificates, proofread program outreach materials, and maintain/update databases.
  • Distribute certificates of completion.
  • Assist in marketing/outreach efforts by proofreading course catalog and website content; assist coordination of student information sessions; updating mailing lists; and distributing marketing materials.
  • Assist with the processing and orientation of new faculty; maintaining faculty information database; assisting with the organization of faculty meetings and communication with faculty on a variety of administrative issues through preparation of correspondence and Letters of Agreement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, supplemented by courses in office practices, and/or any combination of education, training and experience providing an understanding of the field and the ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience performing general office and clerical duties involving customer service.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Work independently as well as with multiple teams (including academic and IT teams).
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships; influence, build credibility and trust.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in another language in addition to strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technology as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Hiring Range $22.89 to $29.74 per hour. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.Please include a complete resume including all relevant and related work experience.
