Job Summary/Basic Function
We are seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for Swimming and a commitment to fostering the holistic development of student-athletes. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of talented student-athletes and build upon a rich tradition of athletic excellence. As the Head Coach, you will not only guide our team to success on the field but also serve as a mentor and role model, helping our student-athletes develop the skills, discipline, and character necessary for success in all aspects of their lives.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and be among the top programs within the conference.
• Oversee scheduling, practice planning, game day operations, and travel
• Oversee the administration of the Swim program, including making recommendations for hiring and supervising coaching staff.
• Oversee the program’s operational and recruitment budget.
• Connect with the alumni of the program, including but not limited to opportunities to meet, invitations to appropriate team activity, and other stewardship activity
• Understand and follow the rules, regulations, and protocol of the University, GLVC, and the NCAA.
Minimum Qualifications
• Extensive understanding of the game and technical aspects of the sport
• Previous coaching experience
• The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development.
• Four-year college education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
