Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise Chaparral Fitness Center operations. Provide strength and conditioning programming an implementation of that programming for varsity student athletes. Provide personal training for clients. Perform group exercise classes. Supervise Fitness floor personnel and student desk workers. Serve as manager on duty when Chaparral Fitness Center Manager is not present.

  • Act as Manager on Duty and assist all team members with guidance as needed.
  • Provide strength and conditioning programming an implementation of that programming for varsity student athletes.
  • Act as lead personal trainer and coordinator of group fitness sessions.
  • Ensure clients are trained professionally and obtain feedback on the quality of their PT experience.
  • Interview, hire and train all PE Lab Assistants (floor workers) and student front desk workers.
  • Address member concerns and resolve them in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Communicate and enforce all fitness center policies and procedures with the fitness team and users.
  • Meet with the Chaparral Fitness Center Manager on a monthly basis to review performance and set goals for the upcoming month based on the opportunities identified.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Manager on fitness business performance and plans.
  • Ensure a positive trend in active clients and sessions serviced for the Chaparral Fitness Center.
  • Assist Chaparral Fitness Center Manager with promotions and sales of revenue producing streams.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • 2 or more years of collegiate work or equivalent experience required.
      • Nationally certified fitness professional required.
      • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related field of study preferred.
      • NSCA, ACSM, NASM or ACE Certified preferred.
    • Experience
      • One year experience as a supervisor, strength & conditioning coach, commercial personal trainer or group fitness instructor required.
      • 5 or more years experience as a supervisor, strength & conditioning coach, commercial personal trainer or group fitness instructor preferred.


    Working Conditions:

  • Should have knowledge of all fitness apparatus.
  • 11,000 square feet fitness area.
  • This position requires a pre-employment background check at the expense of the College.


  • Hiring Range:
    Classified 10 Hourly/20.00 - 22.00

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
