Position Summary:

The Administrative Specialist II is responsible for examining and verifying documents, preparing routine correspondence, and maintaining files. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for the filming of practices, games, and individual training sessionsCoordinate the sharing and receiving of videos with/from outside sourcesCoordinate the editing and clipping of all film to use as a teaching tool for video sessions with coaches and student-athletesAll job duties must be performed in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA regulationsCatalog all films and create archivesManage student staff responsible for working with video editingResponsible for maintenance of all video equipmentManage the video exchange for the programAssist with other Athletic Department functions and events as requiredOther duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of record keeping procedures
Knowledge of basic arithmetic
Knowledge of basic grammar
Knowledge of computers and software applications

Ability to conduct research and compile data into report form
Ability to establish and maintain filing systems
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

The Administrative Specialist II has regular contact with department staff, other state agency/institution personnel, clients/students, personnel of regulated entities, and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee

Arkansas State is home to eight undergraduate colleges: Agriculture, Engineering and Computer Science; Education and Behavioral Science; Neil Griffin College of Business; Liberal Arts and Communication; Nursing and Health Professions; Sciences and Mathematics; and University College. While it does not award degrees, the Honors College is a component of the university’s academic structure. The Department of Military Science provides programs for students who aspire to be U.S. Army officers.

The Arkansas State University System is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of Arkansas to serve staggered seven-year terms. The trustees hire the system president, approve the curriculum, annually approve an operating budget, and establish policies for the efficient and effective operation of the institutions.
