The successful applicant for this position will join an established team of ECC clinicians and will work in a progressive and collaborative service, the position will be primarily based in our VECCS Level 1 and AAHA certified hospital in Gainesville. ECC at UF also runs a busy extracorporeal therapy service including intermittent hemodialysis, CRRT, therapeutic plasma exchange and hemoperfusion - if this is not currently in your skillset then this is a great opportunity to learn some new techniques! You will be involved in primary patient care, along with instruction and supervision of DVM students, interns and residents. We put a lot of emphasis on student education and offer three unique clinical rotations for DVM students - Emergency Medicine at the Ocala location, and separate ER and Critical Care focused rotations in Gainesville.

Applicants will be expected to develop a program of scholarly activity; the balance between clinical, teaching and research assignment will depend on the qualifications of the applicant and is negotiable. This is a non-tenure accruing position. Opportunities at the University of Florida for clinical trials, scholarship of education and translational research related to emergency and critical care are unparalleled and applicants will be encouraged to explore collaborations within the College of Veterinary Medicine and with established investigative teams in Critical Care Medicine at the Shands Hospital.

Gainesville is located in north central Florida; there are many opportunities for outdoor recreation including close proximity to beautiful beaches, gulf coast fishing towns, crystal clear warm water springs and unique wildlife.
