College of the Sequoias Community College District accepts applications for part-time adjunct faculty pools for the position of Access & Ability Counselor within its Access & Ability Center continuously. Screening committees will conduct the screening of candidates. Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the applicant of an interview. If the department does not have an immediate need to add candidates to their pool, applications remain in the queue for consideration until the need arises, or for one year in active status.
PART-TIME ADJUNCT POOLS
Part-Time Adjunct Faculty assignments may include weekend and/or evening counseling at the Visalia Campus, the Hanford Educational Center, or the Tulare College Center.
If you submit a duplicate application, only your most recent will remain active for one year.
Part-Time Adjunct faculty positions are temporary positions and do not accrue rights to tenure.

Job Duties
Under the general direction of a dean or director, adjunct faculty will provide counseling services to students, including the following:
Qualifications
The candidate must meet the following criteria. Required Education from a U.S. Department of Education recognized accredited organization and licensure qualifications. In accordance with Ed Code Title V for DSP&S, the following requirements are required:
Master's degree in counseling, guidance counseling, student personnel, clinical or counseling psychology, education counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, marriage, family and child counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in marriage and family therapy or in marriage, family and child counseling and possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT);
AND
either fifteen or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work specifically related to people with disabilities,
OR
completion of six semester units, or the equivalent of a graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a postsecondary Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) Program or in a program dealing predominantly or exclusively with people with disabilities,
OR
two years of fulltime experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following;
A. Counseling for students with disabilities; or
B. Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities, or the equivalent.

Organization
College of the Sequoias is a two-year California community college offering educational and enrichment programs for the residents of its district in Tulare and Kings counties. The college was established in 1925 and moved to its current 62-acre main campus site in Visalia in 1940.
In addition to the campus in Visalia, COS operates a full-service center in Hanford that is also home to the college's police and fire academies.
COS also opened its Tulare College Center in January 2013. It is a full-service college center and the home of COS' agriculture program
