Job Details

The Department of English at Calvin University invites applications for adjunct instructors of Written Rhetoric (English 101). All courses are offered face-to-face on either a MWF or TR schedule. Instructors are responsible for classroom instruction and assessment, and they have the opportunity to participate in professional development. The appointment will be for the fall semester, beginning 3 September 2024.

A commitment to the Christian faith is essential.  Candidates are expected to affirm the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES

A master’s degree or above in English and two years of college teaching experience are required. If the MA is in a related field, 18 graduate credit hours in English are required. Desired qualifications include graduate coursework in rhetoric and composition. All applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods and instructional technology as required.
