Job Summary

Dalton State College Wright School of Business seeks a part-time non-tenure track Lecturer of Economics beginning August 2024.The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching.The candidate should have attained a master's degree in economics, or a closely related field (e.g. MBA or MS Economics with at least 18 graduate hours in economics), with appropriate coursework in Economics preferably from an AACSB accredited institution.Business experience, service, research, and industry certifications are important pluses. The candidate will be expected to teach a face-to-face class.

The appointment is for the dual enrollment part-time faculty at the Dade County, GA High School and is renewable each year given satisfactory performance and budget.

The C. Lamar and Ann Wright School of Business is AACSB-accredited, and salary is competitive with the AACSB small school network. Master's level degree will pay $2,400 per 3 credit class and Doctoral level degree will pay $3,000 per 3 credit class. We currently offer six B.B.A. degrees with majors in Accounting, Finance and Applied Economics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate level Economics courses. The teaching load will consist of a minimum of 3 hours per semester.
  • Provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, and class schedules.
  • Provide a syllabus with learning objectives, an assessment at the end, and take regular attendance.
  • Evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters continuously.
  • Respond to student questions outside of class hours.
  • Participate in any training required by the college and follow all college policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Applicants must hold an earned Master's, preferably from an AACSB accredited college of business in the field of Economics or closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with dual-enrolled high school students a plus.
  • College classroom teaching experience
  • Earned industry certifications such as ASCM or ASQ credentials
