Job Title:Hosting Systems Administrator

Department:Student Life | Technical Services Administration

As a member of the Managed Hosting Services team, the Hosting Systems Administrator collaborates with customers, vendors and other technology groups in the design, implementation, and support of a business-centric portfolio of information technology applications and services.

The responsibilities of this position impacts 16,000+ residential students across multiple campuses and up to 4,000+ Student Life staff in 70+ buildings. Requires close collaboration with the business area to understand operations, processes, workflows, and specifications is essential in delivering technology solutions that delight.

Regular duties include application installation, configuration, and testing, incident/problem resolution and request fulfillment, monitoring and remediating application/service issues, performing security/compliance activities, managing and communicating application changes, documentation, and end-user training.

The Hosting Systems Administrator may serve as informal resource for less experienced colleagues. Applies industry knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principals, and technical capabilities to perform tasks and projects independently. Works on complex projects of large scope ,and refers to precedents and defined parameters. Receives general guidance on new projects. Work is reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives.

This position requires flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends, participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, and other diverse tasks in a broadly defined environment.

      Additional Information:



      • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant degree program or equivalent work experience an education.
      • 4 years of relevant experience managing complex business applications, database administration, and reporting and analytics.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of basic IT infrastructure concepts such as authentication, databases, networking, servers, and storage
      • Considerable experience in cross-collaboration, customer service, and strong oral and written communication skills
      • Experience in coordinating work among multiple projects and priorities
      • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.


      • 4- 8 years of relevant experience.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of housing/property management systems (StarRez or Similar)
      • Experience working in higher education and campus housing.
      • Experience with Microsoft Server technologies such as Active Directory
      • Experience managing/integrating on-premise and cloud-based applications
      • Experience with automation workflows and query/scripting languages

      Hiring range for this job profile: $79,000-$105,000.
