Position Summary

This collaborative and high-performing professional works with the Foundation Executive Director and other team members to execute the Foundation’s fundraising initiatives in support of the College’s programs, services, and students. A high level of relationship building, and diplomacy skills are critical.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop fundraising strategy and set priorities to achieve annual goals and budgets, consistent with Foundation Board and Executive Director initiatives
  • Research and identify potential donors within the community for giving and sponsorship opportunities
  • Develop an action plan involving moves management to steward potential donors and alumni
  • Create and implement strategies for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors to support scholarships and college program needs
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with current donors
  • Assist in ongoing communication with current donors and with stewardship initiatives as determined by the Executive Director
  • Write proposals to obtain grants, event sponsorship, and naming opportunities
  • Prepare presentations to deliver to potential donors and key stakeholders
  • Work with Foundation Board of Directors assigned committees
  • Cultivate committee engagement and involvement for assigned committees
  • Oversee planning for assigned major events and campaigns
  • Assist with scholarship program efforts as directed by Executive Director including coordination of the Education to Empowerment program
  • Identify and steward major gift opportunities, in partnership with Executive Director
  • Lead development of quarterly newsletter, monthly Board of Trustees report, and other ongoing communications, marketing, and donor stewardship
  • Manage event budgets and work with Executive Director to develop Foundation budget and achieve departmental financial goals
  • Provide reports to the Executive Director on the status of ongoing campaigns and projects
  • Work with marketing team to update all social media and web communications related to the Foundation’s outreach and event initiatives, as assigned by Executive Director
  • Assist with review of Foundation website to ensure information is updated and accurate
  • When needed, work with Development Specialist or Scholarship and Outreach Coordinator in supporting the work of selected Foundation committees
  • Support the Development Specialist as needed on donor database management
  • Assist in coordinating the acceptance process for non-cash gifts
  • Perform general administrative support functions
  • Provide daily/frequent direction to the Development Specialist, Scholarship and Outreach Coordinator, and other Foundation staff members as delegated by the Executive Director
  • Work collaboratively with others (e.g. Board members, colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
  • Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience implementing large-scale fundraising events, writing corporate proposals and reports, and/or managing complex projects
  • Proven track record of revenue generation and prior experience with direct mail campaigns, major donors, events, endowments, or other campaigns
