Job Summary/Basic Function

Maryville University is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Benefits Coordinator. Our new Benefits Coordinator will be at the forefront of fostering employee well-being, administering benefits programs, managing workers' compensation and FMLA, and collaborating closely with our Executive Director of Human Resources to promote an overall culture of wellness.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Plans and administers all activities relating to the administration and maintenance of employee benefits programs in a manner that ensures cost effectiveness, market competitiveness, and internal equity.
• Administers benefits programs, serving as primary contact with brokers and providers, including group health, dental, vision, life, and retirement.
• Manages employee wellness program in conjunction with the Wellness Committee.
• Reports, maintains, and monitors workers' compensation, FMLA, and requests for accommodations from candidates and employees.
• Processes invoices for the HR Department.
• Completes required annual surveys, including CUPA, IPEDS, and Worker’s Compensation.
• Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Organizes and monitors annual open enrollment communications and election process in partnership with ADP.
• Assists HR Executive Director in the daily administration of other HR services as directed or assigned
• Maintains University Organizational Chart.
• Serve as a backup for other HR functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a similar role.
• Computer knowledge, including Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and database management.
• Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
• Ability to plan and organize wellness training activities for diverse employee groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new programs and applications.
• Ability to deal with interruptions and multi-task.
