SummaryThe Tulane Recovery Community (TRC) ResidentDirector holds a crucial role as a professional staff member residing on-site,responsible for the overall operation of the TRC House. This position is acollaborative venture between The Dean of Students Office and the Office ofHousing and Residential Life. The responsibilities include overseeing andmanaging the TRC House, specifically designed for students self-identifying asbeing in "Recovery" from a substance use disorder or problematicrelationship with substances. The primary responsibilities include initiating,implementing, maintaining, and evaluating efforts within the TRC House thatresult in educational, social, and cultural growth for both individual studentsin recovery and the entire living community. The TRC Resident Director fulfillssix primary areas of focus: Recovery Community Support, Administrative Duties,Crisis Response and Student Support, Community Development, StudentDevelopment, and Departmental Responsibilities. Additionally, this role acts asa catalyst for student engagement within the TRC House, exemplifying an activerecovery practice as a positive role model.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher educationinstitution by the date of hire
- Minimum of 18 months experience in addiction/recoverypeer support.
- Master’s degree in relevant field such as Counseling, SocialWork, Higher Education Administration, or a related discipline. AddictionRecovery credential.
- Previous experience in residence life or recovery housingmanagement, specifically in a collegiate setting.
- Personal or professional experience in the field of recoveryfrom substance use disorders, providing a deeper understanding and empathy forthe challenges faced by students in recovery.
- Experience in crisis management and the ability toeffectively manage emergencies within a residential recovery community.
- Familiarity with collegiate recovery programs.
