Position Summary
Dominican University of CA is seeking an experienced individual to serve as course instructor for undergraduate level criminology courses. Course instruction will be dictated by the course that is taught.

  • Teach a four-unit course(s) at the undergraduate level (in person)
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Hold weekly office hours
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Perform other course related duties as assigned
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity

  • Course Descriptions

    CRIM 1000 - Introduction to Criminology This course introduces students to the sociological and psychological study of crime and criminal behavior. The historical roots of criminology as well as current controversies will be studied. An overview of criminal law and the criminal justice system are discussed, as well as issues of punishment, rehabilitation, prevention and social reform.

    CRIM 3002 - Juvenile Delinquency & Justice An examination of the various theories of delinquent behavior and an introduction to the field of juvenile justice practice. This course explores the social, historical and legal context within which delinquency and juvenile justice occur.

    Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate level courses in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Google Suite: Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Digital Camera

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Criminology, or related field.
  • Working experience in the field of criminal justice.
