Position Summary:

The Business, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Learning Community at Henderson State University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management. Henderson’s Business program was initially accredited by AACSB in 1998. The position reports to the Director of BIE.

Duties & Responsibilities:

    Developing and teaching undergraduate courses in Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, and General Business/Management, as well as sustained interaction with business and industry;
    Assessment/evaluation of instruction;
    Participation in college and University committees;
    Career advisement, recruitment, and retention activities;
    Facilitate student learning and help students achieve academic success and retention;Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met in a classroom, discipline/program, and College level;Provide academic advising;Connect with local business and industry;Partner with students and faculty to solve problems encountered by entrepreneurs in startups and other organizations;Engage in professional development in current and emerging instructional approaches to engage new majority learners;Work with faculty to ensure the management and entrepreneurship programs are viable;Attend and participate in faculty and administrative meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required.



Salary and rank will be competitive with AACSB-accredited small schools and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

A earned doctorate in Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, and/or related areas is required for appointment as an Assistant Professor. ABD candidates who are at the final stages of their doctoral dissertation will be considered.

Candidates with a Master’s degree in Business combined with extensive professional experience assisting small business owners and entrepreneurs will be considered at the Instructor rank.
