Tallahassee Community College announces openings for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Adjunct Faculty positions for the 2024-25 academic year.

MAJOR FUNCTION: Adjunct faculty will provide instruction, service and support of college policies and procedures, along with opportunities for professional development.

Adjunct Faculty Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in special education. Or a master’s degree in elementary education, early childhood education, educational curriculum development, and/or field related to education and instruction plus 18 graduate semester hours in special education.

  • Must hold a valid Florida Professional Educator Certification(s) (Not endorsements) in one or more of the following: Elementary Education (K-6), Reading (K-12), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Exceptional Student Education (K-12), and/or Reading (K-12).

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed for this position, all prospective adjunct faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Commitment to student retention and success
  • Commitment to development and assessment of student learning
  • Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning, including distance learning and alternative delivery systems
  • Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and beyond the classroom
  • Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.
