Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant III reports to the Dean of Academic and Technical Programs. Performs administrative and office support activities for the Academic and Technical programs and Dual Credit programs. Responsibilities include general record management, clerical duties, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, managing spreadsheets, filing, and faxing. Extensive software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities and strong communication skills. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited two year college or university with major course work in related area. Minimum two years experience within jobs leading to this or a similar job. Work experience may be substituted for a degree.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, bend, and twist upper body. The employee must regularly carry and lift up to 10 pounds, and move up to 15 pounds. Must be able to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education and Banner preferred. Microsoft Office Certifications in Word and/or Excel preferred.


$32,000 -38,000 Depending upon work experience and education.

Work Hours:

40 hrs a week, Monday - Friday

Essential Job Functions:

Provide general support to visitors and students. Answer inquiries regarding Academic and Technical Programs and Dual Credit Programs.

Assist with building courses and registering students for Dual Credit programs.

Process all Personnel Action Request forms, including student and adjunct faculty.

Generate accurate minutes of meetings.

Enter all requisitions into the on-line system for all departments and grants; process completed purchase orders to the various vendors.

Maintain on-going budget expense reporting for department and grants.

Maintain office supplies and promotional items.

Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Assist in the collection of required documents such as class rolls, faculty schedules, F3.2’s, permanent faculty files, and other records as required.

Receive, sort and distribute the mail for the college.
