Job Summary:

The Consortium for Applied Microbial Metrics ( is a multi-institutional collaboration of investigators with a shared goal: to develop new pharmacodynamic (PD) markers that will accelerate pre-clinical drug development and human trials in mycobacterial diseases, including tuberculosis (TB) and non-tuberculosis lung disease. As a platform for cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation, the Consortium is developing practical new solutions to accelerate drug and regimen development for tuberculosis and other mycobacterial diseases. The Consortium is committed to the highest standards in research reproducibility and transparency. The Consortium is in a phase of rapid growth as key not-for-profit, federal and pharma stakeholders seek to utilize our novel drug-evaluation tools.

The CAMM Molecular Core, under the guidance of PI Dr. Nichoals Walter is seeking a full-time Laboratory Science Program Manager whose primary responsibility is to serve as a lead to oversee the regulatory and workflow process of the CAMM Molecular Core lab. A primary focus of this position will also be to support the process of the CAMM Molecular Core towards regulatory accreditation as well as support the biomarker qualification process for the RS ratioTM assay. This individual may also provide support to our molecular biology lab to help oversee multiple complex laboratory protocols that include in vitro, murine, and human samples.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Management:

  • Management of wet lab operations including managing deadlines, identifying issues in efficiencies, reporting to leadership, and compliance with policies and procedures

  • Participation on applicable committees as they pertain to quality management and lab operations.

  • Responsible for the onboarding, training, and supervision of lab staff.
Regulatory Management:

  • Independently prepares, develops, submits, and maintains appropriate laboratory and project documentation including regulatory binders.

  • Works closely with sponsors and study teams on the preparation of regulatory documents and addressing relevant regulatory issues.

  • Regularly participates in departmental and institutional meetings to discuss the regulatory status of assigned protocols.

Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
  • Four (4) years professional level research experience

  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in a regulated experimental or wet laboratory (CLIA/ISO)
  • Two (2) years of experience in a molecular biology laboratory
  • One (1) year of experience with the RS ratioTM assay
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expert knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
  • Expert ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

    The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $59,418 to $75,580.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
