Job Description:

Title: Adjunct Faculty - Medical Laboratory Technology

Unit: DCE Adjunct Faculty

Department: Medical Laboratory Technology Department

Reports to: Dean of Health

General Summary:

Middlesex Community College invites qualified applicants for part-time adjunct faculty positions in a newly developed Medical Laboratory Technology Accelerated Program. The college is committed to hiring creative and knowledgeable individuals who have demonstrable expertise in their field. Duties and Responsibilities:

All didactic instruction will be delivered asynchronously utilizing the BlackBoard LMS. Laboratory sessions will take place on the Lowell Campus which includes Thursday evenings and Saturdays. All course content, both didactic and laboratory will follow the traditional MLT program at MCC.

Open faculty positions:

    • Lecture in asynchronous format
    • Laboratory sessions on- campus on Tuesday and Thursday evenings


  • Candidates must be certified professionals in their respective fields (MT/MLS ASCP/AMT) or categorical certification from ASCP.
  • B.S. degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Clinical experience in a hospital/clinical laboratory setting within the last 3 years.
  • Documentation of ongoing professional development necessary.
  • Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, and veterans including those with different levels of academic preparation, and varying physical and learning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in a community college setting
  • Bilingual skills

Additional Information:

Salary Range: DCE adjunct faculty are paid in accordance with the salary step schedule in accordance with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement

Location: Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed

Hours: Schedule to be determined upon hire

Expected Start Date: January 2024
