Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Deputy Laboratory Manager within UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory.


The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) plays an important role in the Irish Health Services as the principal diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The NVRL currently offers a repertoire of over 170 tests for the diagnosis of at least 45 different pathogens, and performs in excess of 1 million tests annually.


The Deputy Laboratory Manager will be responsible for assisting the Laboratory Manager in the management of service delivery that satisfies users' requirements in terms of responsiveness, quality and cost. The post holder will assist with the supervision of staff in the performance of their duties and ensure compliance with the NVRL Quality Management System and Safety Policy. The Deputy Laboratory Manager will act on behalf of the Laboratory Manager in their absence.


Snr Clinical Scientist\2013 (2010) Salary Scale: €71,878 - €99,547 per annum


Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
