The Education and Outreach team in the Information and Communications Lab/Georgia Tech Research Institute is seeking qualified applicants to serve as high school education/teaching and computer science education expertise.This position will assist in training GTRI/GT research faculty and staff engaged in instructing rural high school students in computer science education. This position may also be part of an Instruction Team, assisting in delivering modules to partner rural high schools. Finally, this position will join a professional development team charged work teaching training and instruction as part of the Rural Computer Science for High School Education Program.
·Teaches high school computer science program courses based on schedule needs.
·Assists in revising course content to ensure that it is current, well organized, aligns to State standards, and related to course objectives.
·Attend and assist in conducting professional development activities provided to participating districts¿ teachers.
·Participate in professional development associated with the assigned instructional modules.
·Provide instruction following the lesson plans approved by the project¿s curriculum team.
·Conduct regular debriefing sessions with members of the project management team regarding the progress of instruction and the effectiveness of lesson plans.
·Interact appropriately with participating districts¿ staff and students.
·Provide ongoing assistance to participating districts¿ staff.
·Provide feedback to participating districts¿ teachers and students on submitted culminating projects.
·Submits and updates all requested paperwork and required reports on time.
·Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
4 years of related experience with a bachelor¿s degree in educationAdditional experience and or degree in computer engineering, science, or related field0 years of related experience with a Master¿ degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
