Oregon Tech (Oregon Institute of Technology) invites applications for the dynamic role of Senior Admissions Counselor & Events & Visits Program Coordinator based on the Klamath Falls campus.
The Senior Admissions Counselor is a leader amongst the Recruitment Team and has experience and success recruiting, counseling, and yielding students, and managing a recruitment territory in higher education admissions. The Senior Admissions Counselor is responsible for a recruitment territory including recruitment travel, territory management, and counseling students. Additionally, under the general guidance of the Director of Admissions, and direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Counselor coordinates events and daily visits for the Klamath Falls campus. This includes assisting with planning, organizing, and executing Preview Days and Tech Treks, Admitted Students’ Day, Blue & Gold Days, and New Wings registration events. The Senior Admissions Counselor will also oversee the Student Ambassador Program, including directly supervising ambassadors, leading ambassador hiring and training; and the campus visit experience, including event communications through Slate. The Senior Admissions Counselor may serve as an advisor to Leadership Team and sit in on relevant Leadership Team meetings. A strong candidate has successfully planned and executed admissions events; conducted recruitment presentations to a variety of audiences including high school students, college students, student parents & family members, and transfer & high school guidance counselors; and has successfully leveraged data to drive decision making. A strong candidate has an in-depth knowledge of and skill with Excel, Slate queries & reports, PowerPoint, and event planning.

The Office provides appropriate admissions services, such as recruitment activities and application processing, to assist the university community in enrolling the number and type of students needed to meet the institution’s enrollment goals. Our goal is to promote access via clear communication of Oregon Tech’s admissions standards, provide admissions support for all of our campuses and sites, and support the University’s pursuit of excellence by admitting new students who are capable of persisting successfully to their academic objective at Oregon Tech.

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Data-Analysis, Higher Education, or another relevant field
- 1-2 years of experience in higher education
- Admissions working directly with prospective students and families, or equivalent experience
- Ability to effectively and respectfully work, communicate, and collaborate in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings
- Slate CRM experience
- Data-analysis experience
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as databases and specialized programs
- Recruitment travel experience
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Admissions Counseling, Territory Management, Event & Student Ambassador
