The School of Business at St. John Fisher University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Marketing starting in Fall 2024. St. John Fisher University is located in vibrant city of Rochester, NY and is known as the Gateway to the Finger Lakes Region. Founded in 1948, St. John Fisher University is an independent institution in the Catholic tradition of American higher education and rooted in the Basilan Fathers’ motto Teach me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge. The oldest of the University’s five schools, the School of Business is accredited by AACSB and currently offers an MBA and undergraduate majors in Marketing, Management, Accounting, Finance, and Human Resource Mangement. It expects to expand its programmatic portfolio in the coming years. Job Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be expected to teach marketing-related courses, conduct academic research, and fulfill service obligations to the University, Rochester business community, and the academy in the marketing discipline.Teaching responsibilities may include both undergraduate- and graduate-level courses taught in the areas of consumer behavior, customer experience management, sales and marketing, and marketing analytics. Course delivery modes will include traditional classroom settings (i.e., face-to-face), online, and in hybrid modes. The expected candidate will be expected to introduce new teaching techniques, evaluate student progress, and engage and motivate students through interactive techniques, experiential learning, and other innovative teaching practices. The teaching load is three courses per semester (Fall and Spring); options for additional summer teaching exist.The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity and willingness to produce and publish original, discipline-based scholarship in refereed journals to enable ongoing classification as “Scholarly Academic” under the guidelines of AACSB International and must maintain an active research agenda. In addition, the candidate will be expected to routinely present research at peer-reviewed, discipline-related academic conferences. St. John Fisher University supports scholarship in several ways, including a yearly grant to faculty and a competitive school-wide grant that is available to faculty applicants. The University also provides administrative help in securing external funding for research.Service will take on a variety of forms. These can include but are not limited to academic advising and student mentoring, curriculum design and development, assurance of learning, and committee work. In addition, it is expected that the incumbent will engage with the Rochester business community and be willing to translate academic research into formats suitable for business professionals to help shape business practices. The successful candidate will be expected to support recruitment, advising, retention, and co-curricular activities for students.

Education / Experience:

· A terminal degree in Marketing, Consumer/Social Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. ABD candidates will be considered, but the degree must be completed by September 1, 2024.· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, able to provide proof of their permanent right to work in the US on day 1 of employment, and available to start teaching in Fall 2024.· Evidence of research potential (e.g., published papers in high-quality journals, manuscripts under review and/or revise-and-resubmit, presentations in peer-reviewed conferences).· Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups/populations.· Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.· Active membership in academic and business associations/organizations.

Salary / Hourly Range:
